Curriculum: Open and Shut: The opening and closing
statements in a case are often the two best moments for a lawyer to shine.
This is when the case is first presented to the jury and when the lawyer gets
his final word. So -- how best to effectively communicate your message? This seminar,
for 2-6 participants, uses positive reinforcement, coaching on powerfully
communicating your message and tips on effective public speaking. This will
assist you and your colleagues in dramatically presenting your case. Eye
contact, vocal modulation and creating an aura of confidence are a few of the
skills this course can offer. Avoiding the
Bulldozer: Oral arguments are
critically important. And often times, the biggest bully can emerge the
victor. How does a trial lawyer keep from being bulldozed by an overzealous
litigator? This course offers a chance for lawyers to practice their in-court
oral argument skills. Participants can go head-to-head with an adversary in a
role-playing environment that will allow them to overcome unwanted
interruptions, enhance courtroom confidence and get their point across
effectively. Learn these skills in the classroom, not the courtroom- where
everything is often on the line. Stealing the
Show: For every lawyer who has
ever struggled with an easel, dropped an exhibit or otherwise failed to
effectively use an exhibit or display in a courtroom, this class is for you. The
course includes a PowerPoint demonstration, a mock-opening statement and
pointers on how to most effectively display your most illuminating,
eye-opening exhibits in the strongest way. One-on-One: Often, effectively
learning certain techniques are best accomplished on a one-to-one basis.
Private coaching sessions on vocal modulation, presentational style and
building confidence are also available. Practice your upcoming opening or
closing arguments, get tips on style or simply enhance your ability to give a
lecture, speech or wedding toast. There are many techniques for cultivating
your public speaking ability. Private coaching may be the best choice for
you. |
